Avatar Makeup Tutorial

Transform yourself into a Pandora Princess! Here are step-by-step instructions on how you can recreate this look on your own. Have fun!

Avatar Before you Start:
Gather your Supplies

We used:
-Mehron Paradise AQ™ makeup in Blue Steel Metallic
-Mehron Paradise AQ™ makeup in Lagoon Blue
-Mehron Paradise AQ™ in Wild Orchid
-Blue sparkle glitter powder
-Mehron Stageline makeup brushes
-Foam Wedge Sponge
-Don Post Pointed Ear prosthetics
-Mehron Spirit Gum
-Mehron Castor Sealer
-Cup of water: Mehron Paradise AQ™ makeup is water-activated, so you may want some nearby to make the application process even easier.
Avatar Step 1:
Be sure to start with clean skin. If you have long hair, tie it back away from your face.

Using a foam wedge sponge, paint on the Blue Steel Metallic makeup over the entire face and neck, including the eyelids and lips.

Step 2:
Using a medium stageline brush, paint on wavy stripes of the Lagoon Blue makeup radiating out of the center of the face.

Paint the stripes over the forehead, temples, cheeks, and chin. You can also paint more horizontal stripes along the neck. Don't worry about precision or sharpness of your brushstrokes.

Avatar Step 3:
Using a medium stageline brush, paint on wavy stripes of the Wild Orchid makeup next to the Lagoon Blue stripes.

Using a thinner stageline brush, paint a line of the Wild Orchid around the eyes. On the outer edge of each eye, extend the line a bit past the corner of the eye.

Avatar Step 4:
Use the blue glitter to create small accent spots on the face.

We used the glitter mainly on the highlight areas of the face: forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks.
Avatar Step 5:
We pre-treated the ears with Castor Sealer and painted it with the Paradise makeup before putting it on. You may also want to try on the ears beforehand, and trim them down to size.

Then, we adhered the prosthetics using the Spirit Gum.

Step 6:
We added a wig decorated with beads and feathers. We arranged some of the strands to help hide the seams of the prosthetic ears.

We also added some tribal necklaces and a blue jumpsuit.

Once the jumpsuit is on, you can go back and do any touch-ups. We touched up the neck to make the makeup reach down to the neckline of the jumpsuit. Then you're ready to go!
